This week has been Science week in school. We began the week by reading the story 'Egg Drop' By Mini Grey. The children wanted to help the egg not crack when it fell. They decided to make some crash mats. We planned an investigation to find the softest filling to use. The children tested feather, pompoms, baked beans, cotton wool, shredded paper and shaving foam. They made predictions and then carried out a fair test by dropping an egg onto each filling. They concluded that cotton wool would be the best filling to use as it is soft and fluffy, and the egg didn't roll off of it.
