Phonics / reading parent / carer workshop reminder1 October 2022 (by brightside) |
On Friday7th October, we will holding our first face to face parent / carer workshop.
I know the children have already invited you to the session so I really hope you can come along.
We hope that the workshops we hold this year will be as successful as the workshops we held before the pandemic.
The workshop will be a great opportunity for you to come along and see your child in a reading or phonics session at school. If you have children in more than one class, please feel free to walk between both classes.
The session will run from 9am to 9.30 am and may be held in a different room to your child’s usual class. Staff will guide you where to go.
In the school hall from 9.30 – 10am there will be some staff available for you to discuss the school’s approach to reading and will be able to answer any questions you may have about supporting your child’s reading development at home. On display in the hall there will be a selection of reading text examples as well as some Y1 and Y2 test materials for you to explore. There will also be information leaflets for you to take away. Refreshments will be available too.
If you are struggling to stay for the workshop due to personal commitments, please try to drop into the hall to view some children’s work, speak to a member of staff or pick up supporting information. Some parents found this very useful last year.
